One of the Round Table Editors, and site editor, Kate Sullivan works with emerging writers to provide a realistic foundation for entering the publishing industry. A columnist contributing to an island-based newspaper in the 1980s and former managing editor of New Look Magazine, Kate writes fiction and non-fiction. A graduate of UCLA, she studied black and white photography with Robert Fichter and Robert Heinecken, before receiving a Fulbright nomination for study in Europe. In graduate school, she studied journalism and business management and became an entrepreneur specializing in niche markets. While living in the islands, she wrote for Hawaii Investor Magazine and currently provides content for on-line business publishers. For more than two years, she has reported on the publishing industry, and now edits the Conference Review section of www.wordsmitten.com while working on her second novel, Decibel Levels. Member of SPJ (Society of Professional Journalists) beginning in 1993. In March, www.zinos.com published her recent comedic toe-hair short story, Island Fish and Frozen Peas. Commenting on her novels she says: I'm an H-genre writer. I write about hedonism, heathenism, and Hegelian dialectics. It's not as limiting as it sounds. |
